# Cheapest Unlimited 5G Home WiFi in Malaysia: Top Plans & Price Comparison

For renters, students, and households without direct fiber-optic coverage, **5G Home WiFi** has become the ultimate game-changer. Offering fiber-like speeds through a simple “plug-and-play” setup—without wall drilling or complex installations—it provides high-speed home connectivity at budget-friendly rates.

The main telcos in Malaysia offer competitive packages. Here is a breakdown of the **cheapest unlimited 5G home WiFi plans**, key differences, and how to choose the right provider.

## Price Comparison Matrix

## Breakdown of the Cheapest Options

### 1. YES 5G Wireless Broadband Flexi — *Cheapest Entry Point (RM58/month)*

YES dotCom continues to push the price floor for 5G in Malaysia. Starting at **RM58/month**, the **Flexi plan** is a SIM-only package that requires no contract lock-in.

* **Pros:** Uncapped 5G speeds at the lowest price on the market.
* **Cons:** You need to source your own 5G router. LTE fallback data is capped if you step out of 5G coverage zones.

### 2. U Mobile U Home 5G — *Best All-Round Value (RM68/month)*

U Mobile’s **U Home 5G** plan hits a practical sweet spot. At **RM68/month**, it offers uncapped 5G internet.

* **Flexibility:** You can choose a **SIM-only plan with zero contract**, or opt into a 24-month contract to get a **free “Game-Grade” 5G Router** bundled at no extra upfront cost.
* **Bonus:** East Malaysia subscribers can access regional promos like U Home 5G Borneo starting from RM58/month.

### 3. Maxis 5G Home WiFi — *Best for Hybrid Flexibility (From RM79/month)*

Maxis offers tiered 5G wireless broadband options. Their **Home WiFi 99** tier is often discounted to **RM79/month** during active rebate campaigns.

* **Pros:** Backed by Maxis’s strong network infrastructure, making it dependable in areas where 5G signal strength fluctuates.
* **Cons:** Base entry-tier plans may carry speed caps (e.g., up to 100Mbps), requiring higher-tier upgrades for fully uncapped performance.

### 4. CelcomDigi & Unifi Air 5G — *All-in-One Plug & Play Bundles (RM99/month)*

Both **CelcomDigi** and **TM Unifi Air 5G** price their primary unlimited 5G home offerings at **RM99/month**.

* **What you get:** Both come with a **free Wi-Fi 6 5G router** bundled into a standard 24-month commitment. These plans are structured as complete replacements for fixed-line broadband in non-fiber zones.

## SIM-Only vs. Router Bundles: Which Should You Choose?

When deciding on a budget 5G home plan, you will face two main options:

1. **SIM-Only Plans (No Contract):** Perfect if you already own a 5G CPE router or portable MiFi device. These give you freedom to cancel anytime without early termination penalties.
2. **Device Bundles (12–24 Month Contract):** Ideal if you do not want to spend RM600–RM1,200 buying a 5G router upfront. The telco provides the router for free or via small monthly installments, locked into a standard contract.

## 3 Things to Check Before Buying

> **1. Test Your 5G Coverage First:** 5G performance depends directly on proximity to Digital Nasional Berhad (DNB) or telco towers. Before signing a 24-month contract, test the 5G signal inside your specific living room using a 5G smartphone.

> **2. Fair Usage Policy (FUP):** While plans are advertised as “unlimited,” most telcos enforce an FUP threshold (often ranging from 1,000GB to 3,000GB per month). This is more than enough for regular household streaming, but worth noting for extreme heavy downloaders.

> **3. Indoor Signal Obstructions:** High-rise concrete walls and metallic window tints can reduce 5G signal strength indoors. Place your 5G wireless router near a window facing an open direction for optimal speeds.
